MCi (Suzhou) is one of Flex’s MCi global manufacturing bases, with production facilities across Asia-Pacific region, North America, and Europe, delivering the “intelligent eye” for leading global new-energy vehicle manufacturers.

Inside the MCi plant, more than 70 Zhafir electric injection molding machines operate in a highly organized manner, supporting the company’s  pursuit of precision and quality. The close, long-term partnership between MCi and Zhafir provides a solid foundation for this efficient operation.

As an early innovator in the automotive rear-view mirror sector, MCi has always placed product quality at the core of its manufacturing philosophy. “Our products demand extremely high injection molding accuracy,” said Mr. Wu, Head of Injection Molding. Among many alternatives, Zhafir stood out for its excellent precision and well-balanced performance, leading to a partnership that began with Zhafir’s first-generation electric injection molding machines and has continued through the latest fifth-generation models. 

For MCi, choosing electric injection molding machines was a natural decision. In addition, strong energy-saving performance supports green manufacturing. Mold changeovers are relatively infrequent at the MCi workshop. This is largely due to the high quality of in-house mold development, which delivers long service life and stable performance. To fully leverage these strengths, the cooperation has extended into equipment customization. To meet the specific requirements of rear-view mirror components, Zhafir machines have been optimized with features such as extended ejector strokes and increased plasticizing capacity. These tailored solutions allow molds and machines to work together seamlessly, maximizing production efficiency.

Data is the foundation of intelligent manufacturing. At its facility, MCi has implemented the Haitian Smart Solutions MES system to gain real-time visibility into equipment performance, production progress, and critical process parameters. This integrated digital environment significantly improves operational efficiency and data accuracy, while providing a solid basis for process optimization, quality traceability, and predictive maintenance.

As new-energy vehicle products continue to evolve at a rapid pace, this digital platform plays a critical role in enabling MCi to respond quickly to change while maintaining consistent manufacturing quality.
